Gene Billings, P.T.

Gene was born in Mercedes, Texas in the Lower Rio Grande Valley were he graduated high school in the top 10 of his class. Gene began his academics at Pan American University in Edinburg, Texas which he attended for four years majoring in Pre-Med. Subsequently he transferred to Denton, Texas to attend Texas Woman’s University where he graduated with a B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1976 and served as the class Treasurer.
He began his career in Brenham, Texas as the Director of Physical Therapy for Bohne Memorial Hospital from 1976 to 1978. He transferred to Austin, Texas in January 1979 and worked as the Director of Physical Therapy at Holy Cross Hospital in East Austin. He began his first private practice in July of 1983 in South Austin and named this successful practice Affiliated Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Clinic, Inc. After expanding this practice to a multiple disciplinary practice that incorporated Occupational, Speech, In-Patient Physical Therapy care at The Heart Hospital of Austin and San Antonio. Other services included Long Term Care facility at Marbridge Nursing Care, Home Health and Sports Medicine with the Austin Ice Bats for seven seasons. Services were also provided for the Austin Knights arena football, Austin Outlaws woman’s football and Acrotex Gymnastics. With these extensive services, the name changed to be more representative of the service provided to Affiliated Therapies, Inc.

After 24 successful years of providing out-patient care in South Austin, Marble Falls, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Bastrop, and Round Rock he decided to downsize and go a different direction. His focus changed to be more of an alternative approach to providing care, which landed him at Austin Holistic Health as their Physical Therapist.

Gene brings a unique combination of care as an advanced Practioner in Myofascial Release Techniques, Manual Therapies, Cranio-Sacral therapies. His has experience in treating orthopedic disorders, sports injuries, TMD, (Temporal Mandibular Disorders) chronic pain, (headaches), and many neurological disorders. His expertise is diverse and his experience is vast allowing specialized “one on one care” for those who are looking for that “personalized care”. He continues to hone his skills to provide the most up to date technologies. He is currently enrolled in the University of Spiritual Healing and Sufism as a third year student combining multifaceted approaches to healing.

Gene’s personal goals are to continue developing his skills and career to become one of the most outstanding Physical Therapist in Central Texas and one day be able to teach what he knows to those who would be interested in learning alternative approaches of Physical Therapy.
